Growing in the Ground

1. Plant in a location that receives 6–8 hours of direct sunlight each day.
2. Use well-draining, fertile soil with good organic matter.
3. Water deeply 1–2 times per week, allowing the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Increase watering during hot, dry weather.
4. Apply a balanced citrus fertilizer during spring and summer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Prune lightly to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches and to maintain good air circulation.
6. Protect young trees from frost and extreme cold.

Growing in a Pot

1. Choose a container with adequate drainage holes and use a high-quality, well-draining citrus potting mix.
2. Place the pot in a bright, sunny location where the plant receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily.
3. Water when the top 2–3 cm (1 inch) of the potting mix feels dry. Avoid overwatering or allowing the pot to sit in standing water.
4. Feed with a citrus-specific fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the active growing season.
5. Repot every 2–3 years or when the roots become crowded.
6. In regions with cold winters, move the container to a sheltered, frost-free location when temperatures approach freezing.

General Care Tips

1. Ensure good air circulation around the plant.
2. Mulch around in-ground trees to help retain soil moisture, keeping mulch a few centimeters away from the trunk.
3. Regularly inspect for common citrus pests such as aphids, scale insects, mealybugs, and spider mites, and treat promptly if needed.
